A GILT-LACQUERED BRONZE FIGURE OF BUDAI MING DYNASTY, 16TH CENTURY Cast seated with the right knee raised, holding a sack full of cash on the left hand and a strand of praying beads on the right, wearing a loose robe falling off the right shoulder and open to reveal his full belly, the head surmounted by a five-leaf diadem each enclosing a figure of Buddha Amitabha, the face with a hearty laughing expression, the bronze lacquered overall in gilt and highlighted with red 12 in. (31 cm.) high
