A GILT-SPLASHED BRONZE CENSER 17TH CENTURY The compressed globular censer is elegantly cast with two loop handles to the shoulders, and supported on a slightly splayed foot. The exterior and the base are covered with splashes of gilt. The base is cast in relief with an apocryphal six-character Xuande mark. 7 7/8 in.(20 cm.) wide across the handles. Provenance Acquired in the late 19th-early 20th Century, and thence by descent to the present owner.
