A GREEK TERRACOTTA VOTIVE SHIP Circa 4th Century B.C. Modelled in the form of a ketos, the sea-monster's head forming the prow, with a long snout, bulging eyes, spikey comb and forward projecting ears, his up-right tail in back, painted red and black over a white slip, a cross-hatched pattern at the side, with three banks presently arranged with eight rowers and two coxwains, perhaps from Sicily 17in. (43.2cm.) long
