A GROUP OF GENTLEMAN'S DESK ACCESSORIES
VARIOUS MAKER'S, 19TH-20TH CENTURY
A GROUP OF GENTLEMAN'S DESK ACCESSORIES VARIOUS MAKER'S, 19TH-20TH CENTURY Comprising a Scottish silver snuff box, maker's mark 'IP', Edinburgh circa 1800 ; an English silver-gilt mounted presentation box inset with granite plaque, engraved dedication on interior ' This piece of granite, was broken from the, highest visible Rock on Mont Blanc, by Charles Fellows, in his ascent to the summit, 15,665 feet above the level of the sea, where he arrived, accompanied by a friend, and nine guides at 20 minutes past 2 o'clock, in the afternoon of the 25th of July 1827' , maker's mark possibly John Lawrence London 1827 ; an English enamel and brass steamer trunk-form table box with leather interior, circa 1880; an English silver card case, mark of Nathaniel Mills, Birmingham 1894 ; four Asprey & Co. silver coin mounted ashtrays, London 1936 ; a Tiffany & Co. silver coin-mounted square paper weight; and a double silver coin-mounted snuff box 6 ¼ in. (15.8 cm.) long, the brass box; 4 oz. 10 dwt. (151 gr.) approximate weighable silver
