A GROUP OF ROMAN AND NORTH AFRICAN POTTERY LAMPS AND MOULDS CIRCA 1ST-5TH CENTURY A.D. Including a North African red ware oil lamp with discus modelled with a palm tree, the symbol of Carthage, four pairs of branches arching off to the sides, the rim with triangles, squares, and foliate motifs, 5½ in. (14 cm.) long; another with Latin cross, the rim with dotted circles and stylized flowers; another with figure of naked satyr playing pipes, rim with scrolls and stylized amphorae, all with concentric circles on base; another with figure of a running lion, rim with vine tendrils, 6 in. (15.2 cm.) long max.; a Roman pottery lamp with a two-horse chariot or biga ; another with Europa and the bull; another with a standing warrior wearing crested helmet, holding spear and shield, all with workshop signatures on the underside, 5 in. (12.7 cm.) long max.; another lamp with figure of Eros; another with an eagle, rim decorated with egg and dart; and another with a dolphin, 5¼ in.
