A JAMES I SILVER-MOUNTED COCONUT CUP UNMARKED, PROBABLY SCOTLAND, CIRCA 1600-1620 On spreading foot die-stamped around the border with alternating scrolls and foliage and flat-chased in the centre with stylised fleur-de-lis on matted ground repeated on the vase-shaped stem, the coconut bowl held by three straps with shell edging and on the lower part with corded wire repeated around the rim above the foliate border and flaring lip, engraved inside the bowl on a detachable disc with later initials FF 8 ¾ in. (22 cm.) high Provenance With Alastair Dickenson, London, 2004.
