A JAPANESE FUKAGAWA KORANSHA STUDIO DOUBLE GOURD VASE MEIJI PERIOD (1868-1912), CIRCA 1880s The porcelain studio vase of double gourd form, decorated with bamboo leaves against a bright yellow ground with banded decoration around the mouth and footrims and around the centre of the gourd shape. Three character iron-red mark to the base 'Fukagawa Sei' beneath the Koransha scented orchid mark. 22cm high, 9.5cm diameter OTHER NOTES: The combination of the Fukagawa mark and the Koransha scented orchid mark dates this accurately to between 1879 and 1894. Estimate $200-400 Condition: Some minor wear to the gilding.
