The collection consists of photos of rehearsals, filming, and on-the-set candids of both cast and crew featuring director Mankiewicz, Marlon Brando, Greer Garson, Deborah Kerr, James Mason Louis Calhern, Edmond O'Brien, producer John Houseman, and MGM executive Dore Schary, among others. The photos were taken from August to October, 1952, by John Swope for the February 2, 1953 issue of "Life" magazine, which featured an article on the making of the film and "the incongruities of noble Romans preparing for a tragedy in Hollywood." 10.5 x 11.5 in.
