A large antique Flemish tapestry & carved giltwood screen Print The tapestry 19th century or earlier, the frame late 19th / early 20th century, the tapestry depicting figures in seventeenth century costume in a verdant landscape, mounted in four panels to the hinged Rococo style frame carved with foliate scrolls, rocaille and pierced palmettes, backed with later fabric, 101'' H x 131'' W x 1.5'' D, Provenance: Property of an Estate, Montecito, CA. Condition: The tapestry in good condition with general fading, wear and minor fraying commensurate with age, and scattered repairs. The tapestry cut in four sections to cover the four separate panels. The frame in good condition, with general marks, scratches, rubbed wear and minor separation to joints commensurate with age. The frame lacking hinges originally linking the central panels; the screen currently in two sections of two panels each. The frame with hanging hardware affixed to rear. Fabric backing not removed to examine back of tapestry. The frame later, as stated.
