A LARGE ATTIC WHITE-GROUND LEKYTHOS, IN THE MANNER OF THE WOMAN PAINTER LATE 5TH CENTURY B.C. The shoulder with palmette, the body with funerary scene showing two figures standing to either side of a tomb monument in the form of a pillar with red acanthus leaf at the top, the deceased to the right holds warrior's accoutrements of spear, shield and lance, repaired from fragments, 14¼ in. (36 cm.) high; an Attic red-figure pelike base fragment including ring foot, showing the lower part of a draped figure and a furniture chest, 425-400 B.C., 4½ in. (11.5 cm.) diam. max.; three fragments from an Attic black-figure 'Little Master' cup, showing parts of a sphinx, lions, standing figures and facing cockerels within the band of decoration, 550-540 B.C., close to Tleson , 7¼ in. (18.5 cm.) long max.; the pottery foot from an Attic cup, 6th-5th Century B.C., 3 in. (7.8 cm.) diam.; and a finely potted Greek unglazed pyxis with lid and two handles, circa 5th Century B.C., 4¾ in. (12 cm.) diam. excl. handles (7)
