A large Dutch-engraved goblet Circa 1760, the glass possibly German The generous funnel bowl with a winged figure blowing a trumpet and holding a palm frond above martial trophies, the reverse with two equestrian figures fighting, inscribed PAX OPTIMARERUM (Peace is the highest good), the lower part cut with arcaded motifs, on multi-knopped balustroid stem and domed folded foot cut with facets 27.5 cm. (10¾ in.) high
