A LARGE FRENCH ORMOLU, PATINATED BRONZE AND MARBLE THREE-PIECE CLOCK GARNITURE BY RAINGO FRÈRES, PARIS, THIRD QUARTER 19TH CENTURY Comprising a mantel clock and a pair of fourteen light candelabra: CASE: surmounted by two reclining putti writing the fables de La Fontaine, above a marble panelled freize corned by large acanthus scrolled feet DIAL: white enamel with Roman and Arabic chapters signed ' RAINGO F R E S A PARIS ', pierced engraved gilt hands MOVEMENT: twin barrels, countwheel strike on bell, the candelabra en suite , each modelled with putto kneeling on a stack of books and holding aloft a cornucopia issuing acanthus, lily-spray and Chrysanthemum cast candelabrum, on a spreading marble panelled hexagonal base, cornered by scroll feet The clock: 18½ in.
