A large gilt bronze-mounted Sevres style porcelain urn Print Late 19th / early 20th century, with spurious marks of blue interlaced ''L's centered by ''E'', blue Louis Philippe ''Sevres 1846'' and iron red ''Chateau des Tuileries'', signed ''Poitevin'', cobalt ground with gilt highlights, the spiral-fluted domed cover with pinecone finial, over the spiral-fluted neck and ovoid body reserved to one side with a panel depicting a young couple in a landscape with a village in the distance, within an elaborate border of foliage, scrolls and birds, reserved to the reverse with a riparian landscape with a chateau in the distance, flanked by bifurcated foliate-scrolled handles suspending laurel swags and extending downwards to a foliate collar over a waisted circular socle on a laurel banded foot over a square base with eared corners, 33'' H x 14'' W x 10.5'' D, Provenance: Property of an Estate, Montecito, CA. Condition: The urn in overall good condition. The mounts probably re-gilt. The cover with extensive overpainted restorations.
