A LARGE GROUP OF MAINLY ROMAN, BYZANTINE AND MEDIEVAL BRONZE ATTACHMENTS ROMAN TO MEDIEVAL PERIOD AND LATER Including a Roman crossbow fibula, with three knob terminals and moulded flange on the cross-bar, incised decoration on the bow and fan-shaped mouldings on the foot, 3rd-4th Century A.D., 3 in. (7.5 cm.) long; a group of other fragmentary bronze fibulae; two Roman bronze and lead mounts in the form of facing heads, one wearing Phrygian style cap, circa 2nd Century A.D., 5/8 in. (1.7 cm.) high max.; five Medieval bronze annular brooches, two with raised circular bosses for glass paste inlays (now missing), circa 13th-14th Century A.D., 1 1/8 in. (3 cm.) diam.; a group of bronze mounts, two bronze belt hooks and a group of bronze buckles of various periods; and a later lead oval relief pendant, with seated figure of a man in front of a fountain, buildings behind, all mounted in glazed wooden box frame(a lot) Frame 48 x 25 in.
