A LARGE PAIR OF GILT DUHAMEL PARIS PORCELAIN TWOHANDLED PRESENTATION VASES, Quai de la Cité or Pont Nôtre Dame -factory, painted in colours by Philipp Freund around 1803, of a flattened Krater -shape, in the Empire style, both with two large rectangular panels in the oil-painting-style; both with one frontal Teniersscene depicting a Flemish Fair in a village, one with dozens of peasants gathered round a large central tree, one with several peasants dancing, a nobleman and two ladies watching from the side, both with one reverse pastoral Boucher or Lancret scene depicting; one with a resting shepherd and his guarddog beside two recumbent sheep and a ram, in an italianate landscape, one with a seated shepherdess leaning beside a sheep, flanked by two dogs and a peasant boy, in a dreamy landscape, all panels signed Freund underneath, some with the initials ph , surrounded with a band of palmettoes and dotted roundels, the narrowing lower part applied with huge acanthus leaves, with oval everting neck, the turned handles à anses crosse modelled as palmettoes and acanthus leaves in relief, supported on an oval pedestal above a large rectangular plinth, its sides decorated with palmettoes (one vase with one handle restuck, the other with a regilt chip to the lower half), both marked Duhamel and Pont nôtre dame in overglaze red to the biscuit base, one 1 , the other 2 , circa 1803 (2)
