A LARGE PAIR OF HONGMU COMPOUND CABINETS, SIJIANGUI
A LARGE PAIR OF HONGMU COMPOUND CABINETS, SIJIANGUI QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY Both the cabinets and hat chests are well-carved in shallow relief to the doors with a pair of fish attached to a musical stone suspending from a ring held in the mouth of a bat, flanked by stylised dragons on either side, the aprons similarly decorated with a pair of confronted archaistic dragons, the pattern repeated on the gilt hinges 73 1/4 x 36 7/8 x 15 1/4 in. (186 x 93.2 x 38.4 cm) (2)
