A LOUIS XVI ENAMELLED TWO-COLOUR GOLD SNUFF-BOX SET WITH A MINIATURE BY JOSEPH-ÉTIENNE BLERZY (FL. 1768-1808), MARKED, PARIS 1776/77, WITH THE CHARGE AND DISCHARGE MARKS OF JEAN-BAPTISTE FOUACHE 1775-1781, THE FLANGE STRUCK WITH INVENTORY NO. 505 circular box, the hinged lid set with a gouache miniature on fine canvas of a harbour scene, the base and sides with engine-turned panels of a coin pattern enamelled in translucent lilac, the gold mounts on lid and base chased with stylized acanthus, the sides with chased foliage and swags divided by pilasters 3 5/16 in.
