A LOUIS XVI ORMOLU AND SEVRES 'FOND LAPIS' PORCELAIN POT-POURRI VASE AND COVER Circa 1786, almost certainly supplied by the marchand-mercier Dominique Daguerre the mounts attributed to Pierre-Philippe-Thomire The associated Sèvres bleu nouveau porcelain lid with bifurcated finial above a foliate stiff-leaf oval spray, the gadrooned and beaded collar above a pierced neck with foliate arcaded and plaited collar, the spreading oval body with a ropetwist collar flanked to each end by acanthus handles issuing further twin ropetwist spirals terminating in berried finials, the domed spreading socle issuing berried acanthus and wrapped with berried laurel, on a stepped, spreading rectangular panelled plinth applied with scrolling roses and finished with beaded ropetwist, on a grey bardiglio marble platform, the underside of the lid with printed label D/48952 , with further printed label 263 , the finial replaced, probably originally with a metal cover 15¾in. (40cm.) high, 15in. (38cm.) wide, 7½in. (19cm.) deep
