A LOUIS XVI ORMOLU AND SEVRES PROCELAIN-MOUNTED SATINWOOD, AMARANTH, EBONY AND MARQUETRY TABLE DE CAFE By Adam Weisweiler and supplied by the marchand-mercier Dominique Daguerre the porcelain plaque with date 1776 and probably painted by Charles-Eloi Asselin (1743-1804) The rectangular top with outset rounded corners fitted with a pierced three-quarter heart-shaped gallery and inset with a Sèvres porcelain plaque after Teobald Michau, painted in polychrome with 'La Recreation des Moisonneurs', surrounded by a trellis parquetry border on a satinwood ground, above a foliate and C-scroll mounted frieze on a ebony ground and fitted with a drawer, raised on turned tapering fluted legs inset with brass flutes and joined by an interlaced stretcher outlined with ormolu beading, on tall toupie feet fitted with ormolu sabots ending in casters, stamped A. WEISWEILER , the porcelain with blue interlaced L's and dated 1776 on the side of the panel, with three different customs stamps to the back of the plaque and the carcass beneath the plaque 31in. (78.5cm.) high, 17½in. (44.5cm.) wide, 14¾in. (37.5cm.) deep
