Seven altogether; five are dated either "May 17" or "May 18" and two are dated "May 29;" all from either Beekman Market or A. Fitz & Sons Meat Market (both had addresses at 944 First Avenue, three blocks from MM's NYC apartment); all written out to either "Marilyn Monroe" or "M. Monroe;" receipts outline what the star was eating (or at least what was being delivered to her apartment) including "artichokes, eggs, Engl. muffins, cucumber, radishes, strawberry jam, cheddar cheese, 6 corn, strawberries, endive, steaks, milk, lamb chops" and "chicken," among other edibles. Interesting to speculate why Monroe was buying so much food only two days before her big event of singing 'Happy Birthday' to JFK, especially when she knew she had to be sewn into the gown she'd be wearing. Perhaps she was entertaining or maybe she just kept a well-stocked kitchen. Also included are two invoices from the markets, summing up what she owed from May 17 to 29. Interestingly, one is dated "June 1, 1962," MM's 36th and last birthday. 7 1/2 x 3 1/2in and 11 x 4in
