A MEISSEN CHINOISERIE TEABOWL AND SAUCER CIRCA 1730, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARKS, DREHER 'S TO TEABOWL AND ,, TO SAUCER The teabowl painted with a continuous scene of Orientals on a terrace, possibly by P.E. Schindler , two of them tending to a dead man in black robes, a large steaming kettle on a pedestal nearby, above an double concentric iron-red circle border, the interior with a flying insect below a border of puce and red scrolls divided by clusters of gilt lozenges and by red-edged yellow lozenges centred by blue flowerheads, the saucer with three Orientals bowing and kneeling before a black devil seated on the edge of a cylindrical canopied well-head or pedestal, within a double concentric iron-red circle cartouche and similar border, gilt line rims (minute areas of wear, scratch to insect on teabowl interior)
