A MEISSEN GOLD-MOUNTED (K.P.M.) CHINOISERIE SNUFF-BOX of oval bombé form, painted in the manner of J.G. Höroldt with Orientals at various pursuits, seated at tables before vases of utensils, being waited on and taking tea within gilt line quatrefoil cartouches with Böttger lustre panels and iron-red, purple and gilt scrolls, the underside painted in purple camaieu with figures on a terrace before a low table, the interior to the cover with a man holding a bow and a quiver of arrows and with a child holding his train and two other figures beside a table, one holding a teabowl and the other with a fan on a terrace (very slight rubbing to gilt line around base and below mount at back), blue K.P.M. above crossed swords mark to the interior of the base, circa 1725 5.5cm. wide
