A Meissen (Marcolini) figure of St. Theresa Circa 1780, blue crossed swords and star mark, blue / mark, Pressnummer 73 Wearing a black veil over a white headdress, a long white cloak clasped at her chest over a grey scapula and long grey habit, her head tilted slighty to the right and gazing upwards, holding a large open book with blank pages at her left hip, her raised right hand holding a quill, standing on a moulded square plinth, with lillies sprouting up at her left side, Cupid with a flaming heart and arrow at her right side, the plinth centred with a scroll-moulded cartouche with the inscription S.THERESIA SPIRITUALIS MATER et FUN= DATRIX NOVAE REFORMATI= ONIS ORD. DISCALCEATORUM B.MARIAE de MONTECARMEL in black (right hand restuck, chip to quill, minute chipping to lillies, minute wear to enamels and gilding) 7¾ in. (19.7 cm.) high
