A Meissen quatrefoil bell-stand Circa 1730, blue crossed swords mark The centre painted with merchants on quaysides among packages and before shipping and with figures in landscapes within four gilt line quatrefoil cartouches with lustre panels and joined by gilt scrollwork and flowerheads within a square gilt line, the border with merchants on quaysides and ships at anchor within four quartrefoil panels with lustre panels and gilt scrollwork joined by iron-red scrolls and purpurmalerei small oval chinoiserie panels enclosed by diaper-pattern at the angles, gilt line rim, the underside with four branches of trailing indianische Blumen (one side with two restored rim chips and associated cracks, some retouching to gilding along the same side) 6 1/8 in. (15.5 cm.) wide
