(Islamic & Indian Art, 16th April 2021) A MISCELLANEOUS GROUP OF SIX INDIAN BRASS AND COPPER VESSELS India, 18th and 19th century A MISCELLANEOUS GROUP OF SIX INDIAN BRASS AND COPPER VESSELS India, 18th and 19th century Comprising a Sino-inspired Persianate copper kendi teapot, with a typical inverted bulbous body, resting on a tall splayed foot, engraved with cusped calligraphic cartouches, vegetal sprays and stylised Chinese lotus flowers, 31cm high; a gourd-shaped copper ewer, with squashed globular body and very tall tubular neck, hammered into several ribs filled with flower meanderings on the body and neck, 45.5cm high; an Arab-style copper coffee pot, engraved with cusped arabesques and floral motifs, 19cm high; a rectangular brass spice and powder container, 8.5cm x 17cm x 10.8cm; a large brass dish, engraved with concentric circles, beaded-eye pattern, and a rosette in the centre, 31.5cm diam.; and an early temple ceremonial footed brass table, 6.5cm high and 24.5cm diam.
