A NAPOLEON III ORMOLU-MOUNTED MAHOGANY TWO-TIER OCCASIONAL TABLE BY PAUL SORMANI, PARIS, THIRD QUARTER 19TH CENTURY The oval upper tier surmounted by an ormolu-framed removeable glass tray held to each side by a scrolled berry-hung vine and laurel garland support, the lower quarter-veneered top with moulded-surround, the frieze centred by a berry finial and with acanthus baluster handle to each side, on cabriole legs headed by clasps and terminating in acanthus-wrapped hoof sabots, one tray handle signed SORMANI PARIS 37¾ in. (96 cm.) high; 35½ in. (90 cm.) wide; 23 5/8 in. (60 cm.) deep
