A NORTH BOHEMIAN (KRONSTADT) 'HAUSMALER' FLASK of canted rectangular form, painted by Ignaz Preissler in Schwarzlot and Eisenrot enamels with an extended view of Vienna, with figures promenading outside the city walls and barges and boats on the river, the foreground with horsemen and a lady and gentleman in a carriage before buildings, the reverse with Europa seated on a recumbent bull holding in her left hand a circular shield decorated with four radiating arms with clasped hands and in her right hand a pomegranate issuant from fasces, before a broken tree-trunk, beneath an arch-cut band, the shoulder and the base painted in Schwarzlot with a multitude of butterflies, dragonflies and other insects, 1720-1730 17cm. high
