A NYMPHENBURG FIGURE OF A PUTTO EMBLEMATIC OF FORTUNE FROM THE SERIES OF OVIDIAN GODS CIRCA 1760, GLOBE WITH INCISED O IMPRESSED BAVARIAN SHEILD MARK, THE REVERSE WITH INCISED INTERLACED C MARK, UNDERSIDE OF BASE WITH INCISED I Modelled by Franz Anton Bustelli , with a naked putto kneeling on a globe, with his body twisted and head turned to his left, his hair blown by wind and holding a pink ribbon fluttering in an arc over his body, the pink marbled globe with a pale-blue chain fetter attached to the reverse, on a rocaille and scroll-moulded base enriched in puce, green and gilding, the front with gold coins spilling out from an orange purse with green strings lying before the globe (minute chipping to underside edge of base, wear to gilding, slight firing cracks) 4¾ in. (12.1 cm.) high
