A Nymphenburg group of the Jealous Lover Circa 1765, impressed Bavarian shield mark to support After a model by F.A. Bustelli , the ageing gentleman with long, loose hair, wearing an open jacket, a buttoned waistcoat and trunk-breeches, leaning round the scrolling rococo column of a parapet and peering through an eye-glass at his companion seated nearby, her head turned away to the left to regard another, wearing a court dress with ribbons, wearing a small ruff and feathers in her hair, the top of the column surmounted by a seated monkey looking at itself in a hinged mirror and combing its head, the front impressed with a Bavarian shield within moulded scrolls, on a large flat plinth base edged with sweeping scrolls (her right hand lacking, filled firing crack to his left ankle, chip to mirror and chipping to ribbons, open firing crack behind lady) 8 3/8 in. (21.2 cm.) high
