A PAINTED AND IVORY AND BONE-INLAID STRINGED INSTRUMENT ( TAMBURI ) GWALIOR, INDIA, 19TH CENTURY The body painted with Ganesh flanked by peacocks above Rama and Sita enthroned, the lower register painted with two cows, the reverse showing Rada and Krishna amidst floral sprays and surrounded by attendants, Brama and other gods, the handle with further figural motifs and foliated scrolling garland 38 ½in.
