A painting of The Annunciation India, Oudh, second half of 18th century One side depicting a woman wrapped in a white garment kneeling before a figure with multicolored wings who offers her a cup, with a prayer book, candelabra and other accoutrements to the left, all against a rocky landscape beneath a moonlit sky, with a signature in gold at lower left, surrounded by white, blue and peach borders decorated with gold and with a further inscription at center bottom; the other side with nasta'liq against a golden background filled with a lush floral and vine pattern and surrounded by a gold-flecked ivory borders, a stamp in Arabic script at lower right Opaque pigments and gold on wasli 6 x 3 5/8 in.
