A Pair Of 28-Bore Bohemian Flintlock Holster pistols Circa 1730 With swamped two-stage barrels (scattered minor surface pitting, one fore-sight missing) with a baluster moulding at the muzzle and intersection, the breech sections octagonal then sixteen-sided and stamped at the rear with a gold-lined crowned Madrid-style mark 'L. Santos', with a small gold-lined decorative mark above, gold-lined touch-holes, flat bevelled locks each with moulded border, finely engraved at the centre with Minerva and a trophy of arms, the steels, cocks and tails finely chiselled in low relief, moulded figured walnut full stocks (some bruising, one with cracks and chips, and repaired butt) carved in relief with strapwork, full brass mounts (originally gilt) finely cast and chased scrolls and strapwork in low relief on a punched ground, pierced side-plates, spurred pommels engraved on each side with Minerva and a trophy of arms, shaped escutcheons each cast and chased with owner's coat-of-arms, horn fore-end caps, and horn-tipped ramrods (one replaced) 16in.
