SIGNED BARBEY A PARIS, EARLY 19TH CENTURY
A PAIR OF BELGIAN 25-BORE PERCUSSION PISTOLS SIGNED BARBEY A PARIS, EARLY 19TH CENTURY Converted from flintlock, with swamped twist octagonal sighted barrels each with micro-groove rifling and gilt lines at the muzzle and breech, border and foliate engraved tangs each incorporating the rear-sight, flat bevelled locks each signed 'BARBEY A PARIS' and engraved with a flower-head on the tail, figured walnut full stocks, the butts carved with leaf ornament about the tangs and between the panels of chequering on the grips, set triggers, foliate engraved iron mounts including spurred trigger-guards, the side-plates each formed as a pair of recumbent lions, set triggers, and original rosewood ramrods, Liège proof 8in. (20.3cm.) barrels (2)
