A pair of horizontal borders , the gold silk ground appliqued with blue, green, red and ivory silk with floral and fruiting urns in a Florentine foliate design, the outlines with metal thread, highlighted with embroidered details in coloured silks, one with a standing couple in a domestic interior within an oviate cartouche, flanked by cherubic figures of musicians: a drummer and a viola player; and the other with a courting couple seated on a columnar balcony, surrounded by a flowering creeper, with a viola player and a bag piper; both with added crimson silk and gold thread fringe-- 77 x 11in.
