A PAIR OF HUANGHUALI 'OFFICIAL'S HAT' ARMCHAIRS, GUANMAOYI 18TH CENTURY Each has a curved crest rail supported on curved rear posts and an S-shaped back splat. The arm rails are supported on slender standing stiles and extend beyond the front posts. The rectangular frame encloses a mat seat above plain, beaded aprons and spandrels. The legs are joined in the front by a shaped foot rest and stepped stretchers at the sides. 42 in. (106.7 cm.) high, 24 ¼ in. (61.6 cm.) wide, 21 ¾ in. (55.2 cm.) deep
