A Pair of Inlaid-Bronze Vases Taisho Period (early 20th Century), with signature Dai Nihon teikoku Ishikawa kenka Kanazawa doki kaisha sei (made by the Kanazawa Bronze Company of Ishikawa, Imperial Japan) Of elongated ovoid form with a tapering neck and two handles of geometric shape decorated in flush inlays of gold, silver, copper and shibuichi , one vase with a design of a palm tree and morning glories, and the other with a banana tree and a flowering vine, the shoulder inlaid with a floral band and a silver Imperial chrysanthemum crest in high relief, the foot with a narrow leaf band, the bronze with a greenish patina 113/8in. (28.7cm.) high With wood storage box inscribed on the lid Kingin zogan kabin (Gold and silver-inlaid flower vase) ittsui shoin (pair) and inscribed on the underside of the lid Kenjo Taisho jusannen kugatsu Kanemasa no miya denka Hokuriku chiho gyokei no setsu (Presented to Crown Prince Kanemasa [future Emperor Hirohito] on the occasion of his visit to the Hokuriku district in 1921.9) and signed Ishikawa-ken chiji ([presented by] the Governor of Ishikawa).
