A pair of Japanese Satsuma vases, Meiji period
A pair of Japanese Satsuma vases, Meiji period each of quatrelobed ovoid form rising to the inverted round and barbed rim, applied with lion mask handles, supported on a splayed foot, decorated with two foliate floral sprays growing in a fenced garden and amidst rockwork, the rim with a band of demi-flowerheads reserved on foliate ground and the foot with overlapping petal panels, Satsuma marks -- 5 7/8in. (14.9cm.) high. (2)
