A PAIR OF MAHOGANY OPEN ARMCHAIRS, LATE 19TH CENTURY, IN THE EARLY GEORGIAN STYLE Each with upholstered arched button down leather back with padded outswept arm supports on splayed scroll arm uprights with padded seat on cabriole legs with scroll carved knees and pointed pad feet, one bearing a plaque inscribed This chair is an exact reproduction of that used from da to day by Doctor Samuel Johnson (1709-1784) at the Anchor Brewery of Barclay and Perkins. The original chair is still in use in the company's boardroom (2) (2)
