A PAIR OF MASSIVE FAMILLE ROSE BALUSTER VASES LATE QING DYNASTY Of slender tapering form surmounted by trumpet necks, each elaborately painted and enamelled with two famille rose rectangular panels of phoenix perched on rockwork by blossoming peony and pairs of various other birds including two ducks in a pond, divided by smaller similarly decorated circular and octafoil panels, and below a deep blue-ground enamelled ruyi collar band at the shoulder, the waisted necks with two further painted oval panels below a turquoise-ground ruyi band and bats amidst clouds encircling the rim, all reserved against a dense ground of puce and yellow wan -fret scattered with stylized shou characters and bats, above pink and turquoise stylized lappets encircling the foot - 54 in.
