A pair of Meissen snake handled vases, second half 19th century of baluster form with a deep blue ground, applied at the shoulder with two pairs of gilded coiled serpent handles with acanthus leaf terminals, resting upon a fluted flaring foot picked out in gilding, both with crossed swords mark and 29. in underglaze blue, gilded numeral 2., one with incised A148, impressed numeral 8, Quantity: 2 48.5cm., 19 1/8 in. high
