Beschreibung:

.48 caliber, 10.3125" octagonal barrels, no S/N. Blued barrels, color case hardened locks, German silver mounts, European hardwood stock with checkered grips. Barrels marked in silver inlay: I Christoph Kuchenreiter with additional silver inlaid decorations. Locks marked G. Knoth in script. Pistols retain their original hook breech barrels but have been altered to percussion, likely by Knoth during the 19th century. Single-set adjustable triggers, folding leaf rear sights. German silver mounts engraved with foliate and geometric designs, butt caps with embossed decorations. Pistols with horn tipped wood ramrods. Johann Christoph Kuchenreiter worked during the late 18th and early 19th century in Regnesburg, Bavaria. Condition: Very good. Barrels with a dark and oxidized patina, showing traces of blue in protected areas. Silver deeply tarnished. Markings remain legible, engraving crisp. Percussion locks mechanically functional, although the set-triggers need some adjustment and one does not "set". Bores good, smooth and moderately oxidized. Stocks with scattered wear, bumps and dings and a repair at the forend tip of one gun with some wood filler on the reverse.
