A PAIR OF SILVER-MOUNTED FLINTLOCK TURN-OFF PISTOLS BY WYNN, LONDINI; AND A FRENCH FLINTLOCK PISTOL INSCRIBED BATISSE AUZES CIRCA 1720 AND CIRCA 1740 The first with cannon barrels, one with traces of signature and each with barrel forger's mark 'G' crowned, signed rounded locks with engraved linear borders (one action at fault), moulded swelling figured walnut butts (one extensively chipped below the lock), silver butt-caps and side-plates cast in relief, the latter each with the forward part issuant from the mouth of a grotesque, long iron trigger-plates extending to form the fore-end caps, engraved iron trigger-guards, and baluster triggers, London proof marks: the second with three-stage tapering barrel, inscribed flat lock engraved with rococo ornament, figured walnut half stock carved in low relief, and engraved iron mounts (engraving rubbed throughout, the cock replaced, trigger-guard incomplete). 9¼in (23.5cm) and 13¼in (33.7cm) (3)
