A PAIR OF VIENNA TWO-HANDLED VASES 1792, BLUE SHIELD MARKS, IMPRESSED 92 DATE CODES AND PRESSNUMMERN 12 Of amphora shape with flared rims and gilt handles with foliate terminals, the bronzed-plum lustre grounds finely gilt with arabesques, the centres with bands of interwoven arched lines suspending vine leaves and husks, the lower parts with foliage and flowers above elongated U-shaped lines, the shoulders with garlands issuing from lozenge-shaped panels centred by paterae, the waisted necks with foliate fronds, angular scrolls and pendant garlands of foliage and pearls, on flared circular feet (slight flaking to gilding on handles and rims, areas of very slight wear) 9¼ in.
