The Richard Burns Foundation was launched in June 2006 at the prestigious Goodwood Festival of Speed. Set up in the name of the former World Champion, who lost his brave fight against Brain Cancer in November 2005 aged 34, the Foundation strives to “inspire and support people with serious injury and illness.” Now you have a chance to contribute to this most worthy cause. Following the passing of former World Rally Champion Colin McRae – who was a great Goodwood supporter and played an integral part in the Festival of Speed over many years – the event this year will raise funds in his memory and make a charitable donation to a cause chosen by his family. The Subaru World Rally Team and the Richard Burns Foundation are offering one lucky bidder a chance of a lifetime. The 2003 World Rally Champion Petter Solberg, will take one passenger for a high speed ride up the famous Goodwood Hill on Saturday morning in his Subaru Impreza World Rally Car. Once at the top of the hill Petter will then take the successful bidder around the Goodwood estates very own forest rally stage. Here you will be able to experience the thrill of rallying from the co-driver Phil Mills’ seat. Let’s hope Petter remembers where the corners are!
