A PHILIPPINE ISLANDS IFUGAO CEREMONIAL SPOON 19TH CENTURY Superbly carved with a human figure with hands on thighs and a high headdress, with a beautiful rich patina. Together with a fitted black metal stand. The spoon 17cm long, 5.5cm wide. With stand 21cm high PROVENANCE: Private Collection, Melbourne. OTHER NOTES: For a similar spoon see Christie's Paris, 'Art d'Afrique, d'Océanie et d'Amérique du Nord', 19 June 2014, . Estimate $6,000-8,000 Condition: Old wear from use with rich associated patina. Hole for an earring on the right ear worn through.
