* A Platinum, Diamond and Emerald Ring, containing an octagonal step cut emerald weighing approximately 0.98 carat, an octagonal step cut diamond weighing approximately 1.95 carats, four baguette cut diamonds weighing approximately 0.30 carat total, and 10 old European cut diamonds weighing approximately 0.25 carat total. Accompanied by a Gemological Institute of America diamond grading certificate number 5182111123, dated January 12, 2017, stating Weight: 1.95 carats, Color: F, Clarity: VVS2, Polish: Very Good, Symmetry: Very Good, Fluorescence: None. 9.00 dwts. Estimate $ 10,000-15,000 Property from the Estate of William J. McCarthy, Algonquin, Illinois The ring is approximately a size 6. The mounting has sparse scattered superficial scratches consisten with wear visible under 10x magnification. Diamond Characteristics (graded in setting) All Melee Color: E-F Clarity: VS1-VS2 Condition: Minor nicks to the underside of a select few diamonds can be seen under 10 x magnification. Emerald: It is the opinion of the gemologist (Eblen) that the emerald in this ring has internal characteristics consistent with those observed in natural emerald that has been clarity enhanced to an insignificant degree, and that the most likely location of geographic origin would be Colombia.
