A POLISH ENGRAVED GILT-BRASS AND SILVERED HEXAGONAL TABLE CLOCK WITH QUARTER STRIKE, REPEAT AND ALARM ZACHARIAS MÖLLER, DANTZIG. CIRCA 1680 The gilt-brass case with engraved and silvered D-ended frames to its glass side panels, the hinged foliate engraved base plate with turn catch and set with circular hour bell and oval quarter bell secured with chamfered blued steel straps, on three (later) bun feet and with acorn finials, the gilt-brass dial engraved with foliage and fleur-de-lys to the corners, brass Roman and Arabic chapter ring (traces of old silvering) with sword-hilt half hour markers, the centre with date aperture above VI, strike/not strike and repeat/not repeat indication with steel pointers, silvered alarm setting disc calibrated 1-12, blued steel hands, the rim of the hour hand calibrated 1-30 and painted in gold with a moon and stars with further engraved and revolving spirally pierced gilt-brass pointer indicating age of moon, pull repeat hours and quarters through the side of the case at VIII, the short duration movement secured in the case with blued steel turn-catches, hexagonal plates joined by six baluster pillars pinned to front and with threaded nuts to rear, two fixed and engraved barrels for the strike trains, small barrel for the alarm and chain fusee for the going train, verge and balance escapement with pierced and engraved balance cock with three double-headed eagles and inscribed ZV JEDER STVND VND ZEIT BEDENCK DIE EWIGKEIT , signed ZACHARIAS MÖLLER DANTZIG , with calibrated (1-6) silvered regulation disc set within a pierced and engraved foliate mount, blued steel screws, thistle head bell hammers; with later winding key 17 cm. wide
