A post-war Military Division O.B.E. group of six awarded to Lieutenant-Colonel G. O. B. Marc, Royal Army Ordnance Corps The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, O.B.E. (Military) Officer’s 2nd type breast badge, silver-gilt; 1939-45 Star; France and Germany Star; Defence and War Medals 1939-45; Efficiency Medal, G.VI.R., 2nd issue, Territorial (Capt. G. O. B. Marc. R.A.O.C.) generally very fine (6) £160-£200 Footnote O.B.E. London Gazette 2 January 1950. Godfrey Otto Bernard Marc was born in January 1914, and was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the Royal Army Ordnance Corps, in October 1940 (having served in the ranks for 1 year and 47 days). He served as Acting Major, July - October 1942, and as Temporary Major, October 1942 - February 1944, and March 1944 - October 1945. Marc was promoted Major in January 1950, and served as Temporary Lieutenant-Colonel from April 1951. He retired in May 1959.
