A Qajar Shir-o Khorshid flag , block-printed and painted on linen [Isfahan, c. 1880] single large linen sheet, depicting a large painted lion holding a sword, a human-faced sun rising behind the lion, forming the traditional Shir-o Khorshid emblem, foreground of image decorated with flowers, all framed within a decorative border formed of red, yellow and green circular devices, lower left-hand corner signed Isfahan, 118 Poursana'i , total 910 by 1200 mm.; mounted in modern frame, under glass A large and scarcely depicted Qajar flag, probably from the late Qajar period during the reign of Muzzaffer ad-Din Shah Qajar. The image is signed Isfahan and bears the name of the artist Poursana'i alongside 118 .
