With swamped barrel with silver blade fore-sight, formed in three stages divided by raised mouldings, the breech section engraved 'Londini' and made to accommodate the threaded plug removed for loading and acting as a back-sight, engraved at the rear with a transverse band of running acanthus foliage in front of a pronounced stepped moulding, engraved shaped tang bearing a flush-fitting folding three-aperture back-sight, border engraved flat bevelled lock signed 'J. Willowes Fecit' and with engraved stepped tail, the cock and steel each faceted in the Dutch manner (top jaw and screw replaced), moulded figured full stock carved in relief with acanthus foliage (butt with large repair, fore-end repaired and partly replaced), cast and chased trigger-guard, butt-plate, side-plate and foliate escutcheon, the first with acanthus finials and engraved fluted bow, the second engraved on the heel with symmetrical strapwork, foliage and small cartouches, and with long shaped tang, the third pierced with scrolling foliage, three silver baluster ramrod-pipes, and later silver-capped ramrod (iron parts with some surface pitting and refreshed engraving) 106.7 cm. barrel
